Health Enhancement through Accessible Research and Theory |
|

|
STILL WATERS has
conducted a baseline study on the HIV/AIDS situation and
interventions in QIC/UEC churches and institutions. We intend to
continue research on different issues related to
HIV/AIDS/Reproductive health for both internal and external
purposes.
Goal: Provide sound evidence base for
appropriate HIV/AIDS and reproductive health interventions and
programming. |

Sustainable Health Initiative for Community Enhancement |
|
 |
We believe that
dealing with the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Nigeria is not just about
improving people’s health status during the lifetime of our
projects, but purposefully ensuring that local entities of our
communities maintain our efforts over time, independent of external
support. SHICE is primarily concerned with building and supporting
the capacity of Community AIDS Response Teams (CARTs) in churches
and theological communities.
Goal: Sustainable community initiatives
towards behaviour change for better health and integral community
development. |

Two Fish-Five Loaves Funds |
|
 |
One of the impacts
of AIDS in our communities is the difficulty of meeting the most
basic needs of children (including orphans and vulnerable children).
Thousands of children live with sick or dying parents, children are
being raised by children and most of these children no longer attend
school, lose their homes and inheritances when their parents die,
and fall prey to abuse and exploitation. 2Fish5Loaves seeks to
provide assistance to such children to attend school, have access to
food, health care, shelter and to safe and healthy adult
relationships.
Goal: Providing hope and opportunities
for improved standard of living to orphans and vulnerable children. |

Foot Steps of Moses Project |
|
 |
In Nigeria, it is
not common to see compassion and advocacy for HIV/AIDS related
issues come from the church and its leadership. Footsteps of Moses
project encourage leaders to make HIV/AIDS a priority within their
sphere of pulpit ministry, evangelism or community care experience.
Goal: Leadership for behaviour change
innovation, tools and strategies. |

Community Strength:
Developing Local Capacities for Improved
Community HIV/AIDS Stigma Reduction Efforts |
|
 |
One of the
persistent HIV/AIDS related problems in Nigeria today is stigma and
discrimination at all levels of life, including the church. This has
resulted in undermining prevention efforts and frightening away
people from going for HIV test or from accessing care and support
services in their local communities. Through Community Strength
project we seek to help communities understand, reduce and overcome
HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
Goal: Strengthening communities’
capacity to understand, reduce, and overcome HIV-related stigma and
discrimination. |
