Chief Executive, Mission Africa |
Qua Iboe Fellowship
(now, Mission Africa,
corporate faith mission)
came into being in 1887 when Samuel Bill, from Northern Ireland,
responded to the call to take the gospel to people in Nigeria who
had never heard of Jesus Christ. This resulted in the formation of
United Evangelical Church (formerly Qua Iboe Church) of Nigeria.
Mission Africa is actively involved in a wide range of ministries
which show God's love and bring His hope. Some of these include:
Theological Education, Cross-cultural Training, Church Planting,
Medical Work, AIDS Work, Literature Evangelism, Youth Ministry and
many other practical ministries on both long and short term
programmes.
STILL WATERS is the joint UEC (QIC)/ Mission Africa response to the
AIDS crisis.

Rev. N. S. Issah
National Chairman, United Evangelical Church Conference |
Today, in Nigeria, the
United Evangelical Church (UEC) has tremendous presence in
communities nation wide. The church has over 1,000 congregations
throughout Nigeria which vary in size from around 50 people to over
1,000. Recently the church have begun to recognise the need to
witness cross culturally, and present the gospel of Christ amongst
the neighbouring tribes in Nigeria and beyond.
UEC(QIC) is strongly positioned in Nigeria to help grassroots
communities as guide and leader in the compassionate ministry of
Jesus Christ. Because of the ever-increasing problem of HIV/AIDS in
the country, the church is working extensively to strengthen the
participation of all its leaders and members to strategically
respond in every possible way to the epidemic within local
frameworks. In collaboration with its founding mission
organization, Mission Africa, the church help to establish STILL
WATERS to develop and implement its National HIV/AIDS Policy and
Strategic Plan.
